šŸƒ Allaah says:

ā€œBut when you enter the houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allaah (i.e. say: As-Salaamu ā€˜Alaykum — peace be on you), blessed and goodā€ (Surah an-Noor:61)

From this aayah, we know when we enter our homes, it's good if we say Assalaamu Alaikum.Ā

šŸƒ Anas ibn Malik radhi Allaahu anhu said:

ā€œThe Messenger of Allaah ļ·ŗ said to me,

ā€œO my son, when you enter upon your family and say Salaam, it will be a blessing for you and the members of your household.ā€

(at-Tirmidhi 2698; saheeh by al-Albaani in Takhreej Al-Mishkah 4652)

šŸ”¹But do we say that even when there's nobody home?

šŸƒImaam an-Nawawi said:

ā€œIt is recommended to say Bismillaah and to remember Allaah a great deal, and to say Salaam, whether there is any human being in the house or not, because Allaah says:

ā€œBut when you enter the houses, greet one another with a greeting from Allah (i.e. say: As-Salamu ā€˜Alaykum — peace be on you), blessed and good.} (An-Nur 24:61)ā€

(Al-Adhkaar p. 49)

šŸƒ Abdullaah bin Umar radhi Allaahu anhumaa said:

ā€œIf one enters a house while it is empty, then let him say:Ā

ā€ŽŲ§Ł„Ų³ŁŽŁ‘Ł„Ų§Ł…Ł Ų¹ŁŽŁ„ŁŽŁŠŁ†Ų§ ŁˆŁŽŲ¹ŁŽŁ„Ł‰Ł° عِبادِ اللهِ Ų§Ł„ŲµŁŽŁ‘Ų§Ł„ŁŲŁŁŠŁ†

ā€˜Peace be upon us, and upon Allaah’s righteous slaves.'ā€Ā

[ā€˜Saheeh al-Adab al-Mufrad’ 806]

šŸ”ŗIbn Hajar said:

ā€œThe command to spread greetings of peace includes greetings one’s own self when one enters a place in which there is nobody else present, for Allaah said:

ā€œBut when you enter the houses, greet one another (literally, greet yourselves)..ā€ [an-Nur; 61].ā€
