Surah al-Kahf does not HAVE to be read on Fridays during the day ONLY. This Surah can be read during the NIGHT of Friday as well. There are ahaadeeth that talk about reading this beautiful Surah during the DAY as well as during the NIGHT. 🌷“Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the NIGHT of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Ka’bah).” (al-Daarimi- saheeh by al-Albaani) 🌷“Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the DAY of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.” (al-Haakim - saheeh by al-Albaani) Do keep in mind that the night of Friday starts at SUNSET on THURSDAY and lasts till Fajr of Friday. So we may read Surah al-Kahf ANY time starting from MAGHRIB on THURSDAY until MAGHRIB on FRIDAY. Alhamdulillaah that’s PLENTY of time, even for those of us who are really busy. ❓ QUESTION❓ If I’m too busy, can I ‘break up’ the recitation and read only ‘some’ of Surah al-Kahf then finish reading it later❓ Obviously it’s good if we can finish reading this Surah in one sitting. But if someone is not able to do that for whatever reason, it would be ok to ‘break up’ the reading as long as you FINISH reading it within the night or day of Friday. That’s because the Prophet sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam encouraged to read it this Surah on Fridays. And he Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam did NOT SPECIFY that it has to be done in ONE SITTING. May Allaah accept from us and enable us to understand and incorporate this beautiful Surah in our lives. Ameen. And Allaah knows best
