Surah al-Kahf:Ayah 46 What REALLY counts

by Asma bint Shameem الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا “Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds that last, are better with your Lord for reward and better for hope.” (Surah Al-Kahf : 46) Here Allaah is reminding us that our money and our kids are just part of this transient life. They will be of no use to us when we stand in front of Allaah to give account. So don’t go to extremes in acquiring wealth or pleasing your kids. Don’t ruin your Aakhirah over them. Our wealth is not going to accompany us in the grave. Our children will not stand in front of Allaah for us. We will be there ALONE. And NOTHING will matter except our good deeds. So WORK HARD for that Aakhirah. PUSH yourself to do good deeds. STRIVE to do your BEST. EXERT tirelessly to please Him.
